Today, we had fun discussing the branches of science. I was delighted to hear great, in-depth conversations about classifying scientists. The arguments brought about some great questions. I can tell that we have some amazingly bright students on our team. This year we will study life science, and then we'll move onto physical science in 8th grade. In case you didn't know, I get my students for two years. :)
Tomorrow and Friday we will be taking a pre-assessment for our first semester with 60 multiple choice questions. Why so many? I want to get a clue as to what students know and don't know. There's no point and boring students with content they've already mastered. After the test, we'll move onto parts of speech to help us break down scientific vocabulary.
